Olly and I are running the Birmingham 10k for ‘Operation Smile’ because we want to help to create a sea of smiles!
This will be my first ever run and I have just started training this morning (got up at 4.45am on Monday whilst the children slept) – I was so excited to complete 2 sweaty miles! Trusting in the process and hoping that with 14 weeks of dedication I can take on the 10k challenge smiling, in honour of this wonderful charity.
The charity do incredible work in countless developing countries. Children and adults with an un-repaired cleft condition live with unimaginable emotional and physical suffering; yet a surgery can take as few as 45 minutes to complete – since 1982 they have provided over 240,000 free LIFE CHANGING surgeries to those born with a cleft lip or cleft palate.
It costs approx £150 for one operation and many will go their entire life without it.
If anyone has the capacity to donate to this cause, however small or large we would be most grateful.
